8th International Symposium on Sturgeons
September 10th - 16th, 2017 - Vienna/Austria
Registration (standard fee) and abstract submission have been extended until July 31.
Sturgeons were among the first species that suffered from the increasing industrialization and human population development in Europe. To date only one European river system with sturgeon populations has maintained its functionality - the Danube River - but even this last resort is highly threatened.
The 8th ISS is to focus on the analysis of the dynamics and the drivers of the decline in sturgeon stocks worldwide, while at the same time transferring the lessons to be learnt from sustainable conservation attempts to make the investment in conservation successful.
